Fix #1 Update – Stitch Fix Keeper!

Hey ya’ll, as you read in my previous blog, you can check out here, I wasn’t too happy with my first fix. Originally I scored it a 0/5 and seriously debated on just letting them keep my $20 styling fee.

But…. I came to my senses and…

I decided on keeping the Bay to Baubles, Nordic Stone and Feather Necklace $28! I thought why lose my styling fee when I could just spend another $8 and keep the necklace. I thought maybe I would just gift it…. Then I tried it on tonight with my outfit….

image

… I must say I kinda like it! Maybe if I just stick to wearing it with a black shirt, I will learn to love it!

What do you think???

Happy Friday!

Fix #1-My first Stitch Fix Box

image

My Stitch Fix, Fix #1 finally arrived! I tried peeking online  (I don’t have an iPhone to be able to use their app ūüėē) , and I was a little worried when I read the names of a few of the items… and saw the prices. I picked the “cheaper the better” option, which is a step below the $50-$100/item option. Yet some of my items are much pricier than that.

Upon opening my styling card, I wasn’t too impressed either. #doublewammy

Bay to Baubles, Nordic Stone and Feather Necklace $28

image

Super disappointed with this necklace. It weighs about 1/4 of an ounce, literally light as a feather…which to me comes off as cheap. For a $28 necklace, it should not feel cheap. But that’s not what busted it for me, it’s the stone design.Returning

RD Style, Matt T-Shirt Knit Dress $58

image

Not loving this one either. It is super comfortable and super forgiving… But not very flattering. This is a dress that I wouldn’t mind picking up for $10, (on sale at a Ross) to run errands in, but I don’t see myself wanting to wear this to lunch with friends, or a day date with my man. It may be cute with a slim belt, but that’s not my style, my body type doesn’t bode well with that type of accessory. Returning

Le Lis, Sadria Contrast Trim Top, $44

image

I don’t love the print on this shirt, but it probably would have been a keeper had it fit better. It doesn’t look too bad from the front, but here is a side view:

image

It makes me feel pregnant! I’m all about the flowy top, they are my fav, but I think I would have liked this better in a small. Since I’m obviously not getting the discount, I can’t see myself paying $44 for this. Returning

Liverpool, Frankie Printed Cropped Jean, $78

image

image

I actually like the print on these, I think it’s fun. You can’t tell from too far away, but close up they are too cute. Unfortunately, they seem more like ankle length then cropped, yet they are more open then a skinny jean on the bottom and I just don’t like the way they look. I don’t like cuffed jeans either, so rolling them up isn’t an option (I tried it, promise). These just aren’t for me. Returning

Last but not least.

Renee C, Jaimie Eyelet Stripped Cardigan, $48

image

image

image

This one I tried to style as suggested on my style card… Did not make me like the jeans anymore, and especially wouldn’t wear it with the dress (the dress is blue and white, the cardigan is off-white). This happens to be the only item I would actually consider keeping. It is cute with jeans, warm yet light at the same time. But without the discount, even with my credit I can’t see myself spending $48 on this. Is it silly to rather let them keep my $20?? Undecided

image

At $172 with my discount, I don’t find this fix super expensive if I loved every item and were keeping them all. After all, the stylist has to get paid, the shipping and return shipping is plugged in there, not to mention the convenience and the overheard.

Overall, I think this fix is a total bust. I gave my stylist my pinterest board link, which you can view here and I don’t feel like she looked at it, at all. Plus I live in Florida and it’s about to be summer, I don’t really need jeans and a cardigan! But I’m optimistic, I think I may give it one more go before I quit it!

Bedroom Makeover Complete! Budget Friendly nightstand decor at $80!! #bedroomupdate

Bedroom Nightstand Decor
Night stand decor, gray and white theme

Being the impatient person that I am, I started immediately shopping for how to decorate my night stands after finally hanging my bargain mirrors last weekend, which I wrote about earlier in my blog!!! I am super excited how they turned out! I am always shopping for good deals, and was able to match my style and my color scheme at an affordable price. #doublepoints

image

I found the lamps at my local Ross store for a steal. It is a 24 inch table lamp, silver and crystal  base with a gray shade. How perfect is this? Even better it was only $24.99!

image

Books and flowers are some of my favorite things so I knew I wanted to incorporate them somehow, without breaking the bank or my color scheme. The flower set I found at TJ Maxx for only $6.99! The book boxes are from Hobby Lobby, both discounted 50%, were $7.99 and $9.99. I absolutely had to have the love one when I saw it, being my bedroom, I love to express all things love!

image

I’m obsessed with my finished project, I hope you love it too. Spending just under $80 for a mirror, lamp, book boxes and flowers I feel like I most certainly didn’t break the bank! I feel accomplished and the need to have an adult, decorated bedroom fulfilled!!

Happy Saturday folks, I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!!!!

Coffee girl addicted to Spark!!!! Team AdvoCare! #energyjunkie

image

Every morning, I wake up and drink a Spark. Watermelon  happens to be my flavor of choice, because it is so yum!!!!! I used to be a coffee girl (I still am as a treat), stopping at dunkin donuts every morning spending $2-$4, depending on what I was feelin. Because I am an AdvoCare distributor, I do get a 20% discount on anything I order, but without the discount spark is only $1.23 a serving (canister = $51.95/42 servings). So even before I became a distributor, I was saving money. Not to mention the health benefits I receive, I’ll get into that in a few.

My boyfriend started the AdvoCare journey way before I was into it. I had tried spark a few times and didn’t see what he was so crazy about. Then, I started drinking one before I came to work. I began to notice that instead of giving me a buzz type jolt where I just wanted to talk to my Co workers, it gave me a mental focus, I would come in ready to work, to be on task. I also wasn’t crashing, wanting another coffee at 10 am.

Spark is packed with vitamins that I am happy to get first thing in the morning. Because I use quite a few of their products, I have stopped using multi vitamins all together. Here is a fact sheet on the ingredients / benefits of consuming Spark:

So not only am I saving money, but I’ve also cut quite a few calories, as well a sugar, completely out of my daily diet. I feel great!!!!!! I don’t go a day with my spark guys!!!!

If your interested in trying spark out, you can buy a box of single serve, they are a little more money a serving ($1.63), but there are only 14 servings so you don’t feel so committed. They can be purchased here. There are plenty of fun flavors,  Fruit Punch, Grape, Pink Lemonade, Mandarin Orange, Green Apple (another one of my favorites), Mango Strawberry, Cherry! My only advice would be to play with the amount of water to mix with it, I had to find my right balance for my taste buds, I use somewhere between 12-14 ounces depending on the flavor, where as the box suggest 8.

If your interested in any other AdvoCare products, please visit my site and feel free to ask me questions, I would love to answer any!!!!!!

I wish everyone a wonderful Monday!

Bedroom Makeover in the works! Budget Friendly Mirrors! #bedroomupdate

We moved into a new house last September, all I really wanted was to give my bedroom a makeover. It used to be ¬†my least favorite room in the house, ¬†everything was modge podge, used, thrown together… Now it’s becoming my favorite, and I love it! I decided on a gray and white theme, I just love how clean, ¬†yet soft it looks. I had been searching for mirrors for above my nightstand for months, but being the bargain shopper I am, I had no intentions of spending over $50 a mirror and that’s all I was finding. Then I randomly walk into a Kirklands one day, and find these beauties for $29.99 each. That’s way more my price style! They can be purchased here. I had never shopped at a kirklands before, but I must say there are some pretty reasonable items in there!

We finally got around to hanging them today and I am in love!!! Now I can start decorating my night stands. What should I put here guys? Stay tuned for updates!!
